Obama (of course)
I don’t care if it’s a cliché, this is a historic day. There’s an overwhelming amount of hope resting on this man’s shoulders. And from the sound of his inauguration speech, he won’t disappoint. This is a man who seems to understand (and put great emphasis on) grace, compassion, justice and responsibility. In the words of one member of the crowd in Washington DC, who had waited for hours in the sub-zero temperatures, buzzing with anticipation:
“Dr King said it might take 40 years. It’s been 45 years, I can wait another hour.”
“ To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.
